Meet Dr. Barker
Dr. Barker was born and raised in Southern California, and attended college at the University of California San Diego, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience. He then received his dental training at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco where he graduated with highest honors in 2005. He was inducted as a member of the national dental honor society Omicron Kappa Upsilon, and was also awarded the Northern California Academy of Endodontics-Outstanding Capabilities in Endodontics Award.
Following dental school, Dr. Barker completed a rigorous three year residency at Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA, where he earned his Specialty Certificate in Endodontics and a Master of Science Degree in Oral Biology in 2008. His intensive training at Temple emphasized the most advanced technologies and up-to-date micro-endodontic techniques in order to provide exceptional quality of care and highly predictive long term endodontic results. Dr. Barker was involved in both the clinical and academic teaching of endodontics as an instructor and lecturer at Temple University.
Dr. Barker is active in organized dentistry, and he currently serves on the dental boards for both the Santa Barbara-Ventura County Dental Society and the Conejo Valley Academy of Dentistry. He is also a specialist member of the American Association of Endodontists, the California Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, and the California Dental Association.
Dr. Barker and his wife, Elisa, have three children and love living in Ventura County. When not at the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, helping with his boys’ sports teams, golfing, and traveling.
